Europeans, be part of Strasbourg's history!
As European citizens, you can vote and even stand for election in the municipal elections in Strasbourg or in your local area in March 2026. Register on the electoral roll to make your voice heard before February 6th 2026!
⬇️ Not sure how to do this? Follow our guide below⬇️
Can I vote?
If you are a citizen of a European Union member country, you have the right to vote in municipal elections if you meet three conditions:
You live in France
You will be 18 years old on the day before the first round of the election: i.e. March 14th 2026 for the next municipal elections
You still have civil and political rights in your country of origin
When should I register?
You must register by February 6th 2026 at the latest. After this date, you will not be able to exercise your right to vote. So register now!
In which municipality should I register?
You must apply to register yourself on the electoral roll in one of the following municipalities:
(most often) The municipality of your official residence
The municipality where you have actually been living for at least six months
The municipality where you have been paying one or more local taxes for at least two years: council tax, property tax on built or unbuilt properties, business property tax, etc.
The municipality where you are the manager (director) or shareholder of a company/business, and where it has been subject to local taxes for at least two years
How do I register?
There are two options available to you: online or at your local town hall.
⬇️ We explain both procedures below ⬇️
How do I register online?
🌐 You need to go to this page.
💡 To access this service, you must log in with a France Connect account. If you do not yet have a France Connect account, follow the online instructions by clicking on the icon.
🪪 You will then need the following three documents :
Proof of identity: valid national identity card, passport or residence permit
Proof of address. The list of accepted documents is available here. Most often, this will be a water or electricity bill, a home insurance certificate, a payslip, etc. dated within the last three months
A sworn statement (template available here), which must contain the following information:
Your nationality and address in France
(If applicable) The name of the municipality, local authority or constituency where you were last registered on the electoral roll in your country of origin (e.g. Budapest, Rotterdam, etc.)(Si cela vous concerne)
A statement certifying that you have not lost your right to vote in the country of which you are a national
How do I register at the town hall?
You can register at the town hall in person or by post. The procedure is the same: you must provide
the same documents as for online registration: proof of identity and address, a sworn statement
and complete the CERFA 12670*02 form
For residents of Strasbourg, the town hall's contact details are:
Eurométropole de Strasbourg – Centre Administratif
Service État Civil – Élections
Bureau des Élections
1 Parc de l’Étoile
67076 STRASBOURG CEDEX
I am unable to go to the town hall or register online...
In this case, you can send someone to represent you at the town hall. The person representing you will need to present
the documents mentioned above: proof of identity and address, sworn statement, CERFA form 12670*02
plus a document written and signed by you stating that you authorise your representative to register you on the electoral roll.
For Strasbourg, further information is available on the Eurométrople website.
That's it, you're registered!
